What Cloud Computing Will Save

How much are you willing to spend? There is a cost difference when using a Phat OS and a Fat OS (Operating System) like Microsoft Windows. Cloud Computing will save you many things like extra IT Security and Compliance payouts, and the loss of sleep.

In this time of economic uncertainty, IT managers and corporate executives look to IT Consultants for innovative ways to save time, money, reduce risk, and find more patience. Information Technology (IT) departments that standardize on “PCs at The Desk” are swamped daily with a number naturally occurring problems and the biggest is security. Microsoft Windows has a huge risk bulls eye planted on it. Everything that can be done to secure the enterprise and its employees is top priority, but still unwinnable.

The expected release of Windows 8 is 2012 and a problem with it is already noted – Xbox support. Any business executive that is non-IT should perk up to that little feature or gotcha. I must ask all you industry experts in a “Rated G” tone of voice – Why do I need a PC on my business network that has game controller (Xbox) services purposely built in? When was the line between entertainment console and productivity tool erased?

Private Enterprise, Cloud Computing platforms like Microsoft SharePoint absolutely have no need for such silliness! Chief Security Officers (CSO), IT Managers, Risk Managers, and Executive Management are bogged down in compliance regulations that are already over-bearing. Help me! Please tell me why we have to buy or find it acceptable, to use a Fat OS like Windows with embedded gaming support?

Cloud Computing is know longer an idea, it is the next strategy for business-IT. This trend has tilted the way we look at managing our business using Information Technology. As an IT Consultant, we must find more ways to rollout Self Help services inside the business. Microsoft Windows with gaming support serves no purpose in the workplace. Many smart executives already know this, which is why The Cloud Lives!
